What age are bushcraft birthday parties suitable for?

Bushcraft Our bushcraft parties are typically designed for children aged 6 - 12 years. Activities are adapted to suit the age, confidence and abilities of the group, ensuring everyone feels safe, included and engaged.

Can you tailor the party to my child’s interests?

Absolutely. Every party is personalised. We can adapt activities to suit different ages, confidence levels and interests to create a memorable experience for your child.

Is it safe for children to light fires?

Yes. Safety is our top priority. There is a log seating circle area around the fire circle for children to sit down and fire dishes used for camp fires. All activities are carefully supervised by experienced instructors and children are taught how to use equipment safely in a controlled environment. Activities are always age-appropriate and supported with full risk assessments.

Do parents need to stay during the party?

We recommend that at least two responsible adults remain nearby, to serve snacks or cake. Parents of other children are welcome to return when the party ends. Some choose to stay and enjoy watching the activities whilst instructors lead the session. We are flexible.

Do you provide water, food or birthday cake?

Drinking water taps are available on most sites. We provide a table and a hand washing area. Children should have a Filled Water Bottle. We focus on delivering the activities and outdoor experience. Parents usually bring and serve cake, drinks or snacks, although campfire treats such as marshmallows and skewers are included in the experience.

What should children wear?

We’ll send a simple preparation guide before the party. Children should wear comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather, including:

Jacket, Long sleeves and trousers (colder weather)
T-Shirts and Shorts (warmer weather)
Sturdy outdoor trainers, boots or wellies
Waterproofs if rain is expected

How far advance should I book the party?

Weekend dates - especially in spring and summer - often book 4-8 weeks in advance, so we recommend getting in touch early to secure your preferred date.

What happens if it rains or bad weather?

Outdoor adventure continues in most weather conditions - children often enjoy it even more! We include sheltered activities and woodland cover where possible and we always prioritise safety. In extreme weather, alternative arrangements will be discussed.
